The Practice Room

This 48 sq. m space is ideal for hosting yoga and other physical practices for up to 12 individuals. It can also accommodate up to 20 people for lectures.

The east-facing wall of the room features a panoramic window that offers a stunning view of the nearby forest and leads to a covered terrace. There is also a small south-facing window.

The room is equipped with a ventilation system that operates at full power during classes to maintain a comfortable temperature. The windows can be adjusted to three different positions to provide fresh air, and Wi-Fi is available for your convenience.

In each corner of the room, there are themed areas — the King, Warrior, Magician, and Lover — which can serve as additional points of focus during your practice. If necessary, these areas can be easily removed. The room is also equipped with cabinets containing paper, pencils, pens, and candles.

Accommodation

There are 9 rooms in total, each one decorated to embody one of the Jungian archetypes – the King, Jester, Magician, Warrior, Shadow, Self, Lover, and two Inner Children, a boy and a girl. By staying in a particular room, you can tap into its corresponding energy, gain insights for personal growth, and improve your understanding of yourself, your desires, goals, and ways of achieving them.

The “Lover” room is designed for couples with a double bed that is 160cm wide. The “Magician” and “Inner Child — Girl” rooms can accommodate up to two people each with two separate beds, whilst all other rooms are for single occupants. The maximum capacity of the retreat house is 12 people or 9 if there are no couples in the group.

Similarly, the basement floor kitchen also has an area of 40 sq. m and is equipped with essential appliances such as a stove, oven, range hood, dishwasher, capsule coffee maker, microwave, electric kettle, and toaster. There is a movable table that can be used for cooking, serving, and dining. Besides this, there are four bar stools and all necessary tableware for cooking. If required, large pots and pans can be provided. Both kitchens are stocked with tea, coffee, capsules, sugar, salt, sponges, cloths, cleaning agents, and dishwasher tablets.

The kitchen and adjacent dining room on the first floor have a total area of 40 sq. m. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, range hood, dishwasher, coffee maker, electric kettle, and a thermo pot. All necessary tableware is provided for the group. The dining area has two extendable tables that can comfortably seat up to 16 people.

The Cozy Fireplace Lounge

This space is a favorite among our guests, offering a cozy and comfortable environment for relaxation and socializing. Its centerpiece is a charming fireplace that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, particularly during chilly winter evenings. The hall has been designed with large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer a serene view, creating a comfortable and homely ambiance inside.

Terrace for activities and relaxation

Next to the hall is a 40 sq. m terrace, which is covered by a transparent roof and equipped with lighting. It can be used for a variety of activities by rearranging chairs or mats from the hall. It is also a great spot for relaxation, with a hammock chair available, as well as outdoor sofas and chairs that can be provided upon request.

Balconies and terraces for public use

Circular Terrace on the ground floor: This wooden terrace is accessible from the public hall on the basement floor. It3 has an area of 10 sq. m and surrounds the house on its western, northern, and eastern sides. The balcony on the first floor provides shelter from the rain, allowing guests to enjoy the terrace in any weather.

North Balcony: Located on the north side of the house, the common hall on the first floor features a spacious balcony adjacent to the kitchen. It is sheltered from the rain by the balcony of one of the second-floor rooms.

Royal Balcony: This balcony adjoins the King’s room on the 2nd floor of the house and has an area of about 30 sq. m. It also features sofas for 14-15 people and a table. If no one is living in the room or a guest doesn’t mind, everyone can use this balcony. Guests can access it via a spiral staircase outside the house, bypassing the room.

Self-catering

Guests can cook for themselves using the fully-equipped kitchens. We can advise you on where to buy groceries, including local farm produce.

In-house chef

Our in-house chef can provide meals for guests. She is proficient in Korean, Asian, and European cuisine. The chef’s expertise is reflected in her signature dishes, which include Korean carrots, borscht, minestrone, and baked fish. Special dietary requirements such as lactose-free, gluten-free, or other diets can be catered for.

Restaurants and delivery

Just a 5-minute walk from the retreat house, you’ll find a spa complex with a restaurant that serves fusion cuisine made with high-quality, local Latvian ingredients. If you prefer, we can also arrange for food delivery from restaurants in the nearby city of Cēsis.

Please note that Narbuli Retreat House is only available for booking for group practices, trainings, and retreats. It is not permitted to book the property for parties, family vacations, or other purposes.
